Greetings! My name is Jacob Root.
I am an urban geographer and designer. I studied at the University of Washington where I received a Bachelor of Science in Urban Design, and a Master of Science in Geospatial Technologies.
About Me
Born at Fort Lewis to a military family and raised in Puyallup, Washington, Jacob Root relishes any opportunity to combine design work with GIS. He has particular passions for transport planning and public space design.
Future Plans
As part of my Master of Science in Geospatial Technologies capstone, I will be diving into the complexities of the flashing yellow arrow traffic signal, and will be using GIS data to determine where, when, and why they are most effective, which I intend to help future transport planners develop traffic flow plans that are more equitable in their distribution of vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.
